Robert LoringFounder & CEO
As Founder and CEO of Revolution Capital Group, Mr. Loring oversees all aspects of the firm’s strategy including M&A, Operations and Corporate Development. With over a decade of direct private equity investing experience in both the United States and Europe Mr. Loring has been involved in all aspects of corporate deal making in a broad array of industries and has guided over twenty transactions with some of the worlds largest corporations.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Loring was Vice President of Mergers and Acquisition for Platinum Equity LLC in Beverly Hills, California and more recently Director for H.I.G. European Capital Partners in London, UK.
Mr. Loring holds a Bachelors degree from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife and two daughters.
Aman BajajManaging Director
Mr. Bajaj serves as Managing Director for Revolution Capital Group and is primarily focused on leading financial due diligence for acquisition candidates and also assisting with the operational and financial oversight of Revolution's portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Revolution, Mr. Bajaj was Vice President at Macquarie Bank and was responsible for conducting due diligence and executing middle market mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Bajaj also worked in various roles at Giulaini Capital Advisors and Ernst and Young Corporate Finance where he represented several companies, lender groups and unsecured creditor committees in transactions involving M&A advisory and financial restructurings.
In addition, Mr. Bajaj has held project management positions as Electrical and Systems Engineer with Tata Consultancy Services and Schindler AG, respectively.
Mr. Bajaj holds B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Punjab University in Chandigarh, India and an M.B.A. from University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. Aman lives in Beverly Hills California and enjoys chess, running and travel in his free time.
Sean DorneyManaging Director
Mr. Dorney serves as Managing Director for Revolution Capital Group with a focus on sales and marketing operations and transition services. With more than 30 years of sales and operations experience, Mr. Dorney is primarily focused on portfolio company sales methodology, revenue growth and customer retention. This includes driving strategic and transformational initiatives in the companies including turnaround plans, operational optimization and ongoing guidance and corporate governance. He has been directly involved in more that 40 M&A transitions and turnarounds in his PE career.
Prior to joining Revolution, Mr. Dorney spent more than 12 years with a successful global private equity firm in various diligence, transition and operational roles. His responsibilities included evaluation of sales and operations functions inside prospective and completed acquisitions, creating and/or re-establishing sales processes, developing sales collateral, web initiatives, implementing CRM and SFA systems, developing pipeline and forecasting procedures, developing compensations plans, establishing rules of engagement and driving revenue increases. As an executive in residence at several portfolio companies he was able to drive increased results over pre-transaction performance.
In addition to Mr. Dorney's PE experience, he has spent more than 15 years in various sales and sales management roles as a top performer in the manufacturing and distribution sectors selling complex enterprise technology solutions including software, consulting, training, hardware and support. He has completed multiple sales training courses including Target Account Selling, Miller Heiman Strategic Selling and others.
Mr. Dorney holds a B.S. in Psychology from New York Institute of Technology. He resides in Southlake, TX with his wife and two daughters.
Brian BurnsManaging Director
Brian Burns serves as Managing Director for Revolution Capital Group as well as the Publisher for The Tampa Tribune and tbo.com in Tampa Florida. Mr. Burns has several years of experience in media and business acumen, both in traditional formats as well as new technologies.
Prior to joining Revolution and The Tampa Tribune, Mr. Burns served as Vice President of Publisher Services for technology firm Adiant Inc. and Vice President of Digital at NJMG, both headquartered in New Jersey.
Mr. Burns serves on several Chamber Boards and Advisory committees throughout the Tampa region and holds a B.S. in Computer Sciences from Oakland University. Mr. Burns resides in Tampa, FL with his wife and three children.
Dr. Chongyang LuoDirector of Technology
Dr. Chongyang Luo serves as Director of Technology for Revolution Capital Group. With over a decade of experience in technology research and business development, Dr. Luo is responsible for all technology related matters in M&A due diligence and also for Revolution's portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Revolution, Dr. Luo founded the software and web application development firm Telligem. Dr. Luo has also worked as a Research Engineer at telecommunications chip maker Anadigics Inc. and also with Silicon Valley startups Phosistor Technologies and OptoNet Inc.
Dr. Luo has advised US and Asian companies in areas such as semiconductor, manufacturing, renewable energy, and software/web ventures.
Dr. Luo received his B.S. in Applied Physics from Tsinghua University in China and his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is married and has a daughter.
Jeremy PatelSenior Associate
Mr. Patel joined the firm in 2013. He is responsible for sourcing and screening new acquisition opportunities and M&A due diligence.
Mr. Patel holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida as well as an M.B.A. from Hough Graduate School of Business at University of Florida.
Tom ClearyGeneral Counsel
Tom Cleary acts as Outside Counsel to Revolution Capital Group and is also a partner in the Corporate Practice Group of Dykema Gossett PLLC.
Tom has substantial experience in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and in public and private offerings of equity and debt securities. Tom has represented a number of well-known buyout, venture capital and other private equity financing sources. Tom also has acted as outside corporate and securities counsel to several public and private issuers, including an array of aerospace, high technology, e-commerce, food service and consumer products companies.
Tom is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with Honors and also holds his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law.
Tom lives in Manhattan Beach, California and also currently serves as a Director and as the Secretary of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
